biography

Sivertsen gained his first international experience at the Junior World Championships in 1991 and 1992 . On January 13, 1995, he contested his first World Cup race in the demanding downhill run on the Streif in Kitzbühel . He won his first World Cup points three days later with 23rd place in the Super-G at the same location. The 1995/96 season began for the Norwegian with a surprisingly good ninth place in the downhill from Vail . He was unable to repeat this result for a long time, and at the 1996 and 1997 World Championships he did not get past a 25th place. In the European Cup, however, he achieved his first victory in the Super-G in the Spanish Sierra Nevada on February 20, 1998 and in the second Super-G on the same day, he finished second. This put him in third place in the Super-G in the final standings. It was not until the 1998/99 season that Sivertsen was able to finish three times in the top ten in the World Cup and reached eleventh place in the Super-G and twelfth in the downhill at the World Cup . He also reached the top 10 three times in the 1999/2000 season .

The 2000/01 World Cup season was the most successful for Sivertsen: On December 3, he celebrated his first podium in the Super-G at Beaver Creek with third place and was able to repeat this result at the end of the season in the downhill from Åre . At the World Championships in St. Anton , however, he only managed to place 20th in the Super-G, in downhill and giant slalom he was out. In the 2001/02 season he could not follow up on the good results of the previous year and only reached the top 10 once. At the 2002 Winter Olympics , his best result was 19th place in the Super-G. In the 2002/03 season he drove twice in the top 20 before he crashed on December 29th in the downhill from Bormio and had to end the season. In 2003/04 he reached the points only once, on January 10, 2004 he drove his last race.

In total, Sivertsen contested 139 races in ten World Cup seasons (76 descents, 41 Super-Gs, 21 giant slaloms and one slalom), made it into the top ten twelve times and made it onto the podium twice. He also took part in the Olympic Games once and in four world championships.
