Kenneth Alan Florian (born May 26, 1976 in Westwood ) is an American martial artist .

In his youth Florian trained tennis, martial arts and soccer. Originally his main focus was soccer, but after college, jiu jitsu became more important. He started to practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and took part in tournaments. In 2002 he played his first mixed martial arts fight and then began to practice wrestling. In 2003 he received the black belt in the BJJ. In 2004 he took up Muay Thai in his training and completed another MMA fight, during which Dana White , President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship , became aware of him and signed him for the first season of The Ultimate Fighter , where he was Diego Sanchez in the final was subject. At other UFC events he won against Alex Karalexis, Kit Cope and in 2006 in the lightweight class against Sam Stout. He lost his next fight to Sean Sherk , who thereby became UFC Lightweight Champion. After further victories, Florian lost to BJ Penn in August 2009 , again in the fight for the UFC Lightweight Championship title. In 2011 Florian switched to featherweight and lost to UFC 136 in the title fight against José Aldo . On May 31, 2012, he announced his resignation. His match record is 14 wins and six losses.

In addition, Kenny Florian works as a presenter for the program MMA Live on ESPN and was hired as a side commentator and analyst for the broadcast of UFC 83. In 2007 he visited American troops in Afghanistan.
