Kenza Farah

Kenza Farah (born July 8, 1986 in Bejaia Province , Algeria ) is a French R&B singer. She currently lives in Marseille

Career

As a small child, Kenza had a great interest in music. At first Kenza sang texts by Celine Dion until her own text ideas developed. For the time being, Kenza made a name for itself in her neighborhood at festivities and singing competitions. The next step was to choose her middle name as her stage name. Taking singing lessons was a stopover in her development that showed her that music is not all about fun. After dropping out of singing lessons, Kenza went her own way and met Karim Ouanes de Dugny, who gave her the opportunity to make her first recordings.

This was followed by productions with Kamelancien , Kery James , T2R, Kayser, Alonso, Le Rat Luciano . In December 2006, Kenza signed a contract with the Parisian record label Karismatik . This was followed by the release of their first album Authentik in June 2007 with many revised tracks from the last few years. The album had long been expected in Marseille and rose to number 5 on the album charts in the first week. Kenza received gold for her album and released the single Je me bats and Appelez moi Kenza .

Kenza Farah released her album on November 15, 2010, the first single from the album was called Militante .

The new single from Kenza Farah is called La où tu vas . The single is part of the soundtrack of the film Le Coursier by Luc Besson . The clip was shot on January 22nd in a loft in the 10th arrondissement of Paris.

accident

On the evening of October 12, 2008, shortly after leaving the recording studio, Kenza Farah was hit by a car and injured. She was even declared dead, which turned out to be a mistake a short time later. As her manager told Voici magazine , the accident car is said to have been traveling at a good 90 km / h when it hit her.

In an interview with Planète Rap Mag , she said shortly after that the accident wasn't that bad and the media portrayed it as worse than it was in reality.

style

Inspired by Aaliyah , Tracy Chapman , Stevie Wonder and Francis Cabrel , Kenza produces titles about general grievances in society, disappointment with friends, war, loneliness and love. Their origins are generally recognizable in their texts, namely the socially disadvantaged northern quarters of Marseille. Songs in which she represents herself in hip hop fashion are more current . The style of music is developing from simple beats and well-known samples in the direction of electronic beats . Sometimes Kenza underlines her singing with a Kabyle accent.
