Kevin Tyree Dyson (* 23. June 1975 in Logan , Utah ) is a former American American football poker players in the National Football League . Dyson played on the position of wide receiver for the Tennessee Oilers / Titans . He was selected by the Oilers in the first round in sixteenth place in the 1998 NFL Draft . Prior to the draft, he played on the University of Utah college football team . Dyson works as the assistant principal of the Independent Public High School in Thompson Station , Tennessee .

NFL career

After Kevin Dyson was selected by the Tennessee Oilers in the draft, he played for them from 1998 to 2002. Dyson reached one of his career highlights in 2000 when he entered Super Bowl XXXIV with the Titans . They met the St. Louis Rams ; Six seconds before the end of the game, the Tennessee Titans offense had the ball ten yards from the Rams' end zone . However, they were behind with a touchdown . When quarterback Steve McNair passed the ball to Dyson, the touchdown was only a few yards away, but Dyson was tackled and brought down one yard from the end zone by opposing linebacker Mike Jones . This gave the Super Bowl the nickname “One-Yard-Short”, and this tackle is also called “The Tackle”.

In 2003 Kevin Dyson played for the Carolina Panthers , but did not achieve much there because he was injured. In 2004 he was signed to the San Diego Chargers . When he was released there, he came back to the Washington Redskins , but they released him before the 2005 regular season .

He ended his career with six NFL seasons, 178 passes for 2,325 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 59 regular season games.

Personal life

During his active NFL career, Dyson lived in Nashville and Salt Lake City . Kevin Dyson also has a younger brother who played in the NFL, Andre Dyson .

After his career he went to the integrated comprehensive school ( high school ) of Glencliff in Nashville, where he was wide-receiver coach. He later moved back to his former high school at Thompson's Station, where he trained the defensive backs and wide receivers .
