biography

Dream theater

Moore began his career in 1986 with guitarist John Petrucci , bassist John Myung and singer Chris Collins in the band Majesty, later renamed Dream Theater . After three studio albums , Moore left Dream Theater in 1994 to pursue other musical projects and produce his own album in Santa Fe , New Mexico . As the drummer of Dream Theater at the time, Mike Portnoy , said, Moore had previously taken more and more distance from the other band members, both privately and musically.

Solo projects

After Moore recorded a demo , his melancholic synth-pop album Dead Air For Radios was released in 1998 under the name Chroma Key . During the recording he was assisted by Mark Zonder ( Fates Warning ) and Steve Tushar .

In 2000 Moore moved to Los Angeles , where he produced his second chroma key album, You Go Now . In addition to Tushar, David Iscove (guitar) was involved in the album. Upon completion, Moore moved to Costa Rica , where he worked for Radio For Peace International. Excerpts of his work for the radio appeared on the album Memory Hole 1 .

In 2003, Fates Warning guitarist Jim Matheos suggested a musical collaboration with drummer Mike Portnoy and bassist Sean Malone ( Cynic ) to Moore . The resulting band was called OSI . Their first album was called Office of Strategic Influence .

In 2004 Moore traveled to Istanbul , where he composed the music for the horror film Okul , which he released as an album ( Ghost Book ). This was followed by the chroma key album Graveyard Mountain Home (as an alternative score for the 1955 film Age 13 ).

In April 2006 Moore released the second OSI album ( Free ) with Jim Matheos and in April 2009 the third OSI album ( Blood ). In 2012 the fourth OSI album ( Fire Make Thunder ) was released.

Moore has been working on a new album for his Chroma Key project since 2015, supported by crowdfunding on the Patreon platform . In return, donors will have access to demo songs and pre-release releases.
