Kierdorfer Wald , popularly known as Hocklenbock , is a district in the Herkenrath district of Bergisch Gladbach .

history

The village originally had the name Hocklenbock , a dialect word that translates as somersault . Nothing is known about the origin of the name. The settlement consisted of two farms, the main features of which are still there.

In 1960 the village of Hocklenbock was renamed Kierdorfer Wald . This name goes back to the name of the Kirdorfer Wald , which is also mentioned in this way in the original cadastre . The forest is proven to belong to the Kierdorfer Hof from the 13th century .
