Wiedenhof (Bergisch Gladbach)
Wiedenhof is a district in the Herkenrath district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The village Im Wiedenhof is named after the former Wiedenhof or Widdenhof , which was in the immediate vicinity of the Herkenrath Church . In the Middle Ages it served as the pastor's residence. The Herkenrath church bank regulation of 1630 stipulated a row of chairs for the Wedenhoff . The name Wiedenhof goes back to the Middle High German "widem / widem / widen" (= endowment of a church or a monastery, especially with land or buildings, especially the parsonage). This was the pastor's residence or the farm from which the pastor drew his income.
