Kim-Alice Grajdek (born March 30, 1991 in Langenhagen ) is a former German tennis player .

Career

Grajdek started playing tennis at the age of six and prefers hard courts. She mainly plays in tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won one singles and eight doubles titles so far.

Grajdek played her first professional tournament in August 2006. At the end of 2007 she was listed for the first time in the world. She signed sponsors like Nike and Babolat. She trained for six years at the Hofsäss Academy in Marbella, where she lived and went to school. The owner of the Academy is Klaus Hofsäss, former trainer of the German Fed Cup team and also trainer of well-known greats such as Steffi Graf, Boris Becker, Nicholas Kiefer etc.

In July she received her first wildcard for a tournament on the WTA Tour . She started in the qualification for the Gastein Ladies 2008 , but lost there in her opening match to Bulgarian Sesil Karatantcheva with 1: 6 and 3: 6. She could not use the wildcard for qualifying for the Rogers Cup in Montreal , Canada , and lost her opening encounter against the Chinese Yuan Meng with 1: 6 and 2: 6. In October 2008 she reached the quarterfinals of an ITF tournament for the first time. She reached her first final in February 2011 in Coimbra, Portugal, where she had to give up against the Spaniard Rocío de la Torre-Sánchez when the score was 5-7 and 0-4 due to injury. Then Grajdek reached the quarter-finals or the last sixteen several times at ITF tournaments. In September 2014 she won her first $ 10,000 tournament in Antalya. In doubles, she has won eight tournaments with various partners so far, the first in 2010 and the last in 2015.

She has been working successfully as a trainer in Qatar since June 2016.

Grajdek played in the Bundesliga in 2008 for TEC Waldau Stuttgart ; She then moved to DTV Hannover , with whom she was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2013. In 2014 she was second in the table with her team. In 2015 she was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with DTV Hannover, in which she also played in 2016 .

She played her last match in 2016 in Braunschweig, where she was eliminated in the first qualifying round against Laura Bente.
