Kim Raisner

Kim Raisner (born December 30, 1972 in the Charlottenburg district in what was then West Berlin ) is a former modern pentathlon and today's national trainer in modern pentathlon from Germany .

Life and work

Raisner is a trained physiotherapist and studied sports science at the University of Potsdam . She grew up in Berlin-Spandau , attended elementary school there, and from 1985 to 1992 the Lily-Braun-Oberschule , where she graduated from high school. She completed the subsequent training at the physiotherapy school in the Berlin Rehabilitation Center in 1994 and, after a year of recognition in Saarland, completed her training as a physiotherapist . This was followed by a degree in sports science alongside his sports career until he graduated in 2003.

Active career

As a child she took part in swimming competitions and began the modern pentathlon in 1983 at the age of ten with the Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 , but later also competed temporarily for the LTC Berlin . At the age of sixteen she started at the 1989 Women's World Cup in Warsaw. In 1993 she celebrated her first of seven consecutive victories at German championships, then she won in 2002, 2003 and 2005. Also in 1993 she achieved her first international success with a victory at the Berlin World Cup - more followed in 2000 and 2003 - and crowned the season with the surprising European title in the individual and in the team in Győr, Hungary . In 1996, Raisner triumphed at the world championships and secured the runner- up in the world championship and bronze in the relay in Siena with the team; in the singles she was fifth. Also in 1998 she brought home a silver medal from the relay competition both from the European Championships in Warsaw and from the World Cup in Mexico , after finishing fifth again in the individual there. In 1999 at the Budapest World Cup , she achieved her first individual medal at a World Cup with third place. When Raisner, who was fourth in the world rankings at the time, could not qualify for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , where the women's competition was on the program for the first time, she took a break from competitive sports. From 2002 it went up again and after a victory at the World Cup competition in Most she was nominated for the Olympic Games in Athens 2004, where she reached fifth place. In between there were numerous top places in World Cup competitions. At her last World Cup in Warsaw in 2005, she won the first world championship title together with Elena Reiche and Lena Schöneborn , when the three of them won the relay competition together. In the same year she was still able to secure the vice European championship in singles. Raisner said that in Warsaw - where she took part in a World Cup for the first time - she had come full circle and ended her active career after winning the title.

Career as a trainer

Kim Raisner acquired the C-trainer license during her active time, then the B-license in 2005 and worked from this time until the end of 2007 as the state trainer for modern pentathlon in Potsdam . At the end of her active career, she took over as the successor to Iri Zlatanov at the beginning of 2006 as national trainer for women and is the trainer of the 2008 Olympic champion , Lena Schöneborn. In 2009, Raisner was named “ Trainer of the Year ” by the German Olympic Sports Confederation . Two gold medals, four silver medals and three bronze medals at the women's world championships in 2008 and 2009 are part of Raisner's track record.
