Kim Woo-young (born June 17, 1988 in Seoul ) is a South Korean ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Daemyung Killer Whales in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2017 .

Career

Kim Woo-young began his career as an ice hockey player on the Korea University team . There Anyang Halla became aware of him and he moved to the team from the Asia League Ice Hockey in 2011 . At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he played briefly in Finland, where he played one game for the second division HC Keski-Uusimaa and six games for the Porvoo Hunters from the third-class Suomi-sarja . In the 2013/14 season he was the captain of Anyang Halla. He played for Daemyung Sangmu from 2015 to 2017 before joining the Daemyung Killer Whales .

International

For South Korea, Kim Woo-young already took part in Division I of the 2006 U18 World Cup and Division II of the 2008 U20 World Cup.

For the men's national team , he was nominated for the first time in Division II of the 2009 World Cup and was promoted to Division I with his team. In 2011 and 2012 Kim represented his country at the World Championships in Division I. After rising 3-2 against hosts Poland , South Korea played in the following World Cup in 2013 for the first time in the A group of Division I. At the 2014 World Cup , he had to with the However, the South Koreans then accept relegation to the B group.

He also took part with the South Korean team in November 2012 in the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
