Kim Yong-dae (born October 11, 1979 ) is a former South Korean soccer goalkeeper .

After college, Kim moved to Busan to Busan I'Park , where he won the South Korean Cup competition of 2004. In 2006, the South Korean record champion Ilhwa Chunma brought him into the gate as a reinforcement and promptly won another championship title this year. In 2008 and 2009 he had to do his military service and played for Gwangju Sangmu Phoenix . At the beginning of 2010 he moved to FC Seoul , where he won the championship in 2010 and the championship in 2012 . In the 2015 season he was used less often and left the club in early 2016 to Ulsan Hyundai . There he ended his career at the end of 2018.

For South Korea, Kim Yong-dae already played in the U20 selection at the 1999 Junior World Cup and was also in the goal of the Olympic selection at the 2000 Olympic Games in Australia. In the same year he also made his debut in the senior national team . In the following years he was used there again and again, but could not prevail against older and more experienced goalkeeping competitors. At the soccer world championship in 2002 in his own country he did not get a chance.

In the meantime, Kim fell out of the squad completely and so it was a surprise that he was back in South Korea's squad for the 2006 World Cup . As number three he was not used again and when rebuilding after the World Cup, the younger Kim Young-kwang got his chance.
