Kim and the Wolves (Original title: Ulvesommer ) is a film directed by Peder Norlund from 2003.

action

The girl Kim is a passionate climber . Her father was the first to climb the east face when he was twelve. Kim would like to do the same. Her mother, with whom Kim lives alone, is not at all enthusiastic about it, since Kim's father fell fatally from the same east wall when Kim was still little. In any case, the mother is more concerned with acquaintances with men than with raising her daughter. Misunderstandings mean that Kim is suddenly alone on vacation. So she decides to go on a mountain tour.

While climbing the east face, Kim falls and remains unconscious. When she finally wakes up again, she can drag herself into a dilapidated hut, where she collapses again, exhausted. There she is found by a she- wolf . The she-wolf only has one cub since the others were killed by a bear. Previously, shepherds shot the she-wolf and drove away the rest of her pack. The shepherds want to shoot all the wolves, as they occasionally kill some of their sheep .

The she-wolf takes Kim in like her own child and takes care of her until Kim is well again. Here Kim gets the motherly love that she lacks in her own mother. Kim first flees from the she-wolf because she no longer wanted to leave her out. The adults show absolutely no understanding for their affection for the wolves. The media exaggerated wolves as dangerous beasts and the hunt for wolves began.

Kim tries to prevent this and joins the she-wolf with her boy again. After some dramatic incidents - among other things, Kim has to climb the east face with the wolves again, which she succeeds this time - Kim is able to bring the wolves across the border to Sweden . Hunting wolves is prohibited in Sweden. And the relationship between Kim and her real mother is noticeably improved by the dramatic events.
