Kira Claudi (born September 29, 1994 ) is a German cross-country skier and roller-ski athlete. She starts for the LBC Banfetal.

Career

Before Claudi made her international debut in the Rollerski World Cup , she started at the German Rollerski Championships in Seiffen in 2006 . She won the gold medal in the student class in the sprint and mountain run. A year later she won the sprint again at the German roller ski championships in the schoolchildren's class in Seiffen and was third in the mountain run. In 2008 she won the German Roller Ski Championships in Ruhla in Berglauf again in the pupil class. On July 18, 2009 she made her international debut in the Rollerski World Cup for Juniors in Markkleeberg . In the very first year of the World Cup, she won the 0.2 km sprint freestyle in Thessaloniki, Greece, and came in seventh overall. At her first Rollerski Junior World Championships in Piglio in 2009 , she came fifth in the 0.2 km sprint and eighth in the classic 5 km mountain run. At the German Roller Ski Championships 2009 in Seiffen, she won the mountain run in the youth class and the mass start in Wiesloch .

In the 2010 season she was able to win the 0.2 km sprint freestyle at the World Cup in the Black Forest. At the end of the season, she won the overall World Cup. In Schmallenberg in 2010 she won the German Roller Ski Championships on the flat course in the youth class. In the 2011 season she achieved third place in the 15 km freestyle mass start in Bessans and second place in the sprint freestyle in Markkleeberg. She finished seventh in the overall ranking. At the Rollerski Junior World Championships 2011 in Aure / Kristiansund she came 14th in the 10 km classic mountain run, in the 24 km freestyle mass start she did not finish the race. Together with Tina Willert and Sabine Wallner she won the bronze medal in the relay and in the sprint came 10th. In the 2012 season she was third in Markkleeberg in the sprint and second in Toblach in the 6 km classic. She came in sixth overall. At the beginning of the 2013 season she was third in Oroslavje and a few weeks later she was second in Tripoli . As the season progressed, she repeated her success and made three podiums. In the overall ranking she came in third place. At the Rollerski Junior World Championships 2013 in Bad Peterstal , Claudi was eighth in the 12.5 km freestyle, fifth in the sprint freestyle, fourth in the team sprint freestyle with Tina Willert and 13th in the 11 km classic mass start mountain run.

The 2014 season was also very successful, as it made it onto the podium four times. At the season finale in Val di Fiemme she won the Sprint Freestyle team together with Anna Rockstroh and came second in the overall standings. At the German Roller Ski Championships 2014 in Seiffen she won the mountain run and in Stadthagen the 18 km flat course in the juniors class. At the beginning of the 2015 season she started in Oroslavje with the adults in the Rollerski World Cup . There she finished fifth in the 10 km mass start race and one day later she won her first World Cup victory in the sprint freestyle. Three weeks later she won second place in the sprint freestyle in Madona . At the Rollerski World Championships 2015 in Val di Fiemme , she won the bronze medal in the freestyle sprint.

Private

Claudi lives in Bad Laasphe and attended the Wittgenstein High School there . She is completing a teaching degree in sports and music at the University of Giessen . Kira's brothers Jan and Torben also compete in the Rollerski World Cup.
