The Kirchbach is a three kilometer long right and southern tributary of the Gräbenackersbach .

The Kirchbach rises in the Odenwald at an altitude of about 265 m above sea level. NHN southwest of the Brensbach district of Wersau in a mixed forest on the southern slope of the Gemmertsberg , right by the dead man .
It initially flows in a north-easterly direction through the forest, which is replaced by agricultural land after about 800 m. Then the stream passes the village of Wersau, changes direction about 200 m from the Gersprenz abruptly to the northwest.
Finally it opens at an altitude of about 166 m above sea level. NHN north of Wersau, near the Niederwiesen in the Gräbenackersbach .
Its 2.7 km long run ends about 99 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of 37 ‰.
Catchment area
The catchment area of the Kirchbach lies in the Vorderen Odenwald and the Reinheimer Hügelland and is drained through it via the Gräbenackersbach, the Gersprenz , the Main and the Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the east to that of the Gersprenz
- in the southeast to that of the Küh-Bach , which flows into the Gersprenz
- in the south to that of the Gersprenz tributary Bierbach
- and in the west and north to that of the Gräbenackersbach.
The catchment area is forested in the source area, otherwise arable land dominates. The village of Wersau is the only settlement in its catchment area.
