The Elmenhorst Church is a church building in the West Pomeranian municipality of Elmenhorst . It dates from the 13th century.

description

The field stone hall was built in the second half of the 13th century. Subsequently, in the 15th century, a sacristy in the south and a polygonal choir made of brick were added. The wooden church tower dates from the 17th century.

The gable, window and portal walls were bricked with brick, the windows are triangular.

All parts of the room have a ribbed vault inside . During a restoration in 2003, the previous painting from 1933 was restored. Individual areas of the medieval color scheme were exposed with tendrils and baroque wall paintings.

Furnishing

Sights include the altarpiece from 1730 with winding columns, acanthus carvings and paintings (Last Supper, Nativity (19th century) and Christ in Gethsemane), crowned by a carved figure of Christ. The baroque pulpit from 1723 shows paintings of the Savior and the Evangelists and on the back wall Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Samson, David and Elias.

The bowl of the baptismal font was made from Gotland limestone in the 14th century; The base and shaft are more recent. You can also see an epitaph by Ulrich Kisow († 1687).
