Förthen Church
The Evangelical Lutheran branch church Förthen is in Förthen , a district of the town of Zeulenroda-Triebes in the Greiz district in Thuringia . The parish Förthen belongs to the parish area Langenwolschendorf the church district Greiz of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The hall church with a rectangular steeple in the west and the sacristy in the east was built in the 18th century using medieval remains of the previous church. There are remains of buttresses in the area of the base of the tower . The anteroom is located in the slate-roofed tower with a curved hood. The nave is covered with a slate roof . The interior is covered with a flat ceiling. It has single-storey galleries . The church furnishings are from 1776. The altarpiece was made around 1500. There are carved figures on the wings, Peter on the left and Paul on the right . In the shrine in the middle Maria with child , flanked by Barbara and Katharina . There are still remains of painting on the outside.
The organ with 9 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built by an unknown organ builder .
In the 19th century and in 1988 the church was restored.
