history

The Sorbian Rundlingdorf Förthen was first mentioned in documents in 1484/85. The Förthener Fritschenmühle was first documented in 1635 by means of a loan letter. Over the years, several identified owners managed the property. The end of the grinding operation was in 1958. The buildings were again prepared and plastered. The family earned their living from farming. After the death of the old millers, the heiress sold the property of LPG Pahren in 1987 . A planned holiday property broke up and the mill began to fall into disrepair. In 1990 there was a buyer, who with his family converted the mill and agriculture step by step and today sells agricultural products fresh from the country. The district was and is characterized by agriculture and can support tourism thanks to its natural location . The beautiful hall church , the terrace ponds and a winter garden restaurant are examples of the beautiful surroundings. From 1815 to 1918 Förthen belonged as an exclave to the Neustädter Kreis in Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach . The church also looked after the neighboring town of Läwitz . On May 1, 1994, the village was incorporated into Zeulenroda .
