location
The hamlet of Frotschau, which consists of two settlements, is located on the county road 329 in the heavily hilly terrain with forests and overgrown slopes and hollows in the Vogtland Oberland near Mehltheuer and Syrau .
history
The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on May 23, 1449. In 1864 Frotschau had 11 houses in which 88 people lived. 30 inhabitants live in the hamlet, which was incorporated into Bernsgrün on July 1, 1950 and with this became part of the Vogtländisches Oberland on July 1, 1999, but with the dissolution of this municipality on December 31, 2012, it became part of the town of Zeulenroda-Triebes .
