Mehla is a district of the town of Zeulenroda-Triebes in the district of Greiz .

The place Mehla is located about eleven kilometers (as the crow flies ) west of the district town of Greiz and about two kilometers east of the city center of Triebes. The highest point is the Buchhügel ( 419 m above sea level ). The traffic to and from Mehla runs on the country roads 1083/1084.
history
The oldest written mention of the place comes from June 18, 1462 as Meilan . The place name is of Sorbian origin and is derived from the personal name "Milanj". However, soil monuments in the vicinity of Mehla indicate that the place was older. Until 1918 the village belonged to the principality Reuss older line . During the time of the GDR it belonged to the Zeulenroda district .
On April 6, 1994, Mehla was incorporated into Triebes . Around 306 people live in the district of Mehla today.
