The Falkenthal Church is the Evangelical Church of Falkenthal in the Brandenburg community of Löwenberger Land . The associated parish belongs to the parish of Oberes Havelland .

construction

The Falkenthaler Kirche is a field stone church from the 15th century. A tower bar of the same width is presented in the west of the simple nave , which is now densely overgrown with ivy . In contrast to the field stone churches in the area, this tower was given a lantern-like top with wooden paneling in the Baroque era . That happened in 1702 on the occasion of the coronation of Frederick I in 1701.

Furnishing

Baptism in the church

The baptismal angel, which is suspended in suspension , also dates from the early 18th century, the time of Pietism . Details about the artist are not known because a rectory fire in 1794 burned all papers that could provide information about it.

Until 1937 the angel with a broken wing lay unused in the sacristy . Then Pastor Kerner gave it to a workshop for monument preservation in Berlin-Charlottenburg for restoration . Not only was the broken wing restored there, but the paintwork was also renewed. Real gilding was applied in some places.

In 1851, the important organ builder Carl August Buchholz and his son Carl Friedrich built the first Falkenthal organ ( Buchholz organ ) with eight stops on one manual and pedal .
