Gross Teetzleben Church

The Groß Teetzleben Church is a church building in Groß Teetzleben in the Mecklenburg Lake District . The parish of Groß Teetzleben is part of the Demmin provost in the Pomeranian parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany and is administered by the parish in Altentreptow .

History and architecture

The church was built in 1721 in half-timbered construction. It has a three-sided east end. The west tower is boarded up and has a pointed helmet .

Furnishing

The group of carved figures on the altar with Christ and Simon was made around 1500. He shows a crucifixion scene with many figures in the shrine . Passion scenes are shown in the side wings . In 1739 panel paintings were added between the acanthus cheeks . The Lord's Supper is shown in the predella . An oil painting in the upper part from the first half of the 18th century with a richly ornamented stucco frame shows the Ascension . The baluster barriers come from the same time . A carved figure of the Man of Sorrows, dated around 1500, crowns the upper cornice.

The pulpit dates from the second half of the 16th century, the sound cover from the first half of the 18th century. The octagonal baptism dates from the first half of the 16th century. The bowl and lid are richly decorated.

The west gallery was built in 1739, the stalls also in the first half of the 18th century, and the patron's box is also from the 18th century. The organ was built by Felix Grüneberg from Stettin in 1913. It has a manual and a pedal . In 1991 it was restored by Rainer Wolter .

Another oil painting from 1733 shows pastor Albrecht Christoph Walther († 1757).

The bell was cast by Johannes de Borch in 1569.

Two inscription panels commemorate church renovations in 1584 and 1721.
