The Kölln Church is a church building in the Kölln district of the Werder municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It belongs to the parish of Siedenbollentin in the Demmin provost in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

architecture

The church was in 15./16. Built from field stone in the 19th century . The ogival south portal is located within the extension and is profiled with four-step brick walls.

The basement of the church tower is made of field stone, the upper floor was completed in the first half of the 18th century as a half-timbered structure and covered with boards. A baroque hood, the lantern of which is not broken, closes the tower at the top.

Interior

The Gothic carved altar probably dates from the time the church was built and has a baroque frame. In the middle of the triptych are Anna , Maria with the child and Nikolaus von Myra . In both side wings there are six carved figures of martyrs and saints . The back of the wings showed depictions of passion scenes before these were painted over like the predella in the 18th century . The altar frames date from the first half of the 17th century.

The pulpit is from 1562, the church pews from 1569, the baptismal font was donated in 1662.

On the organ loft there are panel paintings from the 18th century depicting Jesus Christ and the apostles . An organ was built in the first half of the 18th century, and Ernst Sauer added a new work to its prospectus in 1856. The current organ was built in 1904 by Barnim Grüneberg as Opus 479 and has two manuals with a pedal and eight stops .

The church bell was cast in 1873.

Due to the poor structural condition, there was a risk of collapse, the church had to be completely restored between 1991 and 1994.
