Wernrode Church

This Evangelical Lutheran listed church is in Wernrode , a district of the town of Bleicherode in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia . The church of the parish Wolkramshausen-Wernrode belongs to the parish area Wipperdorf in Kirchenkreis Südharz the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The small hall church was built from rubble stones in the 14th century . On the two stone floors of the retracted choir tower, which is covered with a hipped roof , there is another floor made of timber framing . The nave is covered with a gable roof.

The interior has wooden galleries and is covered with a wooden beam ceiling. A round triumphal arch leads to the choir , which is spanned by a pointed cross ribbed vault . The organ with six registers , divided between a manual and a pedal , was built in the 19th century by an unknown organ builder .
