Kittipong Wachiramanowong ( Thai : กิตติ พง ษ์ วชิร มโน วงศ์ ; * January 25, 1990 in Bangkok ) is a Thai tennis player .
Career
Kittipong Wachiramanowong was already successful on the junior tour and was able to celebrate first tournament successes, especially in doubles. At the US Open in 2008 he made it to the semifinals with Peerakit Siributwong , but lost just a little in the match tie-break against the eventual winners Nikolaus Moser and Cedrik-Marcel Stebe . His best placement was a combined 19th place in the world rankings .
On the professional tour, Kittipong mainly plays tournaments of the third-class ITF Future Tour and the second-class ATP Challenger Tour . So far he has won four singles and nine doubles on the Future Tour. On the ATP World Tour in 2008 in Bangkok , Kittipong received a wildcard for the double field together with Danai Udomchoke . They clearly lost their opening match against the seeded duo Robert Lindstedt and Philipp Petzschner in two sets. His second appearance on the World Tour was much more successful. He again received a wildcard for the tournament in Bangkok and was able to play his way through to the semifinals with his partner Dmitri Tursunow . There they failed to Jonathan Erlich and Jürgen Melzer with 4: 6, 1: 6. A year later he received a wildcard for the third time for the tournament in Bangkok , but could not build on the success of the previous year and lost the opening match together with Udomchoke. In the individual Kittipong also received three times (2007, 2009, 2011) a wildcard for the main draw but could not win any of his opening games, in the other years up to 2013 he failed in the qualification.
He won his only title on the lower endowed Challenger Tour in 2016 in Bangkok . Together with his compatriot Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul , he received a wildcard for the double field and in the final was able to beat the top-seeded duo of brothers Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana in two sets. Since that success, Kittipong only played once in Bangkok on the Challenger Tour, but retired in the first round. In singles he could never win more than one match in a main draw. In the singles his best place is a 457th place, in the doubles he was already a good 200 places better and in September 2011 was 249th. He is currently no longer listed in the individual world rankings and is no longer in the top 1000 in the double world rankings.
Kittipong has been playing for the Thai Davis Cup team since 2007 . In singles he was able to win twelve of his 29 games, while he lost his only doubles game.
