The steam locomotive series KEB II was an express train locomotive series of the Empress Elisabeth Railway (KEB).

history

Most of the machines of this type were delivered to KEB by the StEG locomotive factory in 1869–1873 . At KEB they had the series designation  II and the numbers 115-132 and 160-165 . The numbers 154–159 came from Sigl ( Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik ). Johann Zeh installed the Zehsche flap named after him in the locomotives of this series , which, when the regulator was closed, produced a braking effect by introducing air into the cylinders. However, this device was only used in this series and in the kkStB 12 series  .

In addition to the car numbers, the machine also received the names ISCHL , GMUNDEN , LAMBACH , AUSSEE , HALL , Gastein , PRAGUE , BUDWEIS , MOLDAU , PILSEN , Kaplitz , FREISTADT , LONDON , DOVER , Ostende , GOTHA , COBURG , ERFURTH , Tuschkau , DEUTZ , MINDEN , PRESSBURG , ALA , COBLENZ , PEST , OFEN , ROM , GENOA , MILAN and VERONA .

After the KEB was nationalized in 1884, the locomotives were given the designation 21.01-30 on the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) .

During the First World War , a machine helped out with the Vienna Stadtbahn , after the war the remaining 24 were transferred to the BBÖ , which they retired until 1928 , while retaining the series designation .
