The steam locomotive series KEB I was an express train - steam locomotive series of the Kaiserin Elisabeth-Bahn (KEB).

history

KEB put 54 of these 1B express locomotives into operation as class  I. The locomotives were produced by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik (Günther) in 1858 (18 pieces), by the StEG locomotive factory (24 pieces) also in 1858, by Sigl in Vienna in 1858 (one piece) and 1859 (five pieces) and by the company's own workshop in 1863 (six pieces) built. The steam locomotives had a conical chimney and, as was common at the time, only “glasses” as protection for the drivers. Later they got a driver's cab and a Kobel chimney.

At the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB), the remaining 37 units were given the series designation  12 .
