Klaus Brantzen (born March 26, 1958 in Mainz ) is a German actor, singer (baritone), musician and cabaret artist.

Life

Klaus Brantzen passed his Abitur at the Willigis-Gymnasium in Mainz and then studied music and acting in Mainz, Wiesbaden and Darmstadt. After a four-year engagement at the United City Theaters in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach , he has been working as a freelancer since 1993. The actor and baritone has been cast in many operetta and musical roles, among others by the director Andrea Schwalbach at the State Opera Unter den Linden and at the Theater der Stadt Bonn , by Peter Lund at the Neuköllner Oper in Berlin, by Dirk Böhling at the Musical Theater Bremen , by Julia Heymann at the Staatstheater Kassel and by Helga Wolf at the Jagsthausen Castle Festival and the Thunerseespiele in Switzerland.

Klaus Brantzen has mastered a variety of instruments that he uses in his literary-musical cabaret programs: cello, harp, guitar, flutes, accordion, harmonica, singing saw , dulcimer , Indian harmonium, spoon and others.

He performs with solo programs, but also regularly with the Ensembles Stimmritze & So (together with the tenor and musician Alexander Spemann), Apitz & Brantzen (with the painter and draftsman Michael Apitz ), German Geordies (with the singer and musician Werner Schüssler), the Four Reasons (Sandra Mai, Marianne Steinmetz, Werner Schüssler and Klaus Brantzen) and together with Ulrike Neradt and Jürgen Streck.

Klaus Brantzen is married, has a daughter (* 1997), a son (* 1999) and lives in Wiesbaden.
