Klaus Bruns

Klaus Bruns (born in 1962  in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German stage and costume designer .

life and work

Klaus Bruns studied stage design and costume design at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Since then he has worked as a costume designer for drama and opera. In acting he worked at theaters in Graz, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Stuttgart and Zurich, at the Burgtheater in Vienna, the Thalia-Theater in Hamburg, the Schaubühne and the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, the Residenztheater and the Kammerspiele in Munich. He has worked with a number of directors, and he works closely with Karin Henkel .

He was also successful in opera and worked with the directors Götz Friedrich , Kirsten Harms , Harry Kupfer , Damiano Michieletto and Peter Mussbach at the three Berlin opera houses, at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, at the Teatro Regio in Turin and at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro as well as at the opera houses of Amsterdam and Antwerp, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Mannheim.
