Klaus Eberhardt (born October 3, 1956 in Düsseldorf ) is a German local politician of the SPD and Lord Mayor of the large district town of Rheinfelden .

Life

Eberhardt spent his childhood and school days in Ratingen until 1976 . From 1976 to 1982 he studied urban and regional planning at the TU Berlin , where he graduated with a degree in engineering. After completing his studies, he became an urban planner in Goslar in 1982 , where he took over the management of environmental rehabilitation in 1984. In 1986 he moved to Osterholz-Scharmbeck in the same position .

From 1990 to 1992 he was head of the municipal building department in Weil am Rhein and then took over the mayor's office, where he was responsible for the areas of construction, urban development, law and order, building management, land registry and depot. From 1992 to 2000 he was managing director of the Landesgartenschau GmbH. On April 22, 2012, he was elected Lord Mayor of Rheinfelden with a share of 66.5% of the votes in the first ballot. He took office on July 1, 2012.

In the city administration of Rheinfelden, Klaus Eberhardt is responsible for the areas of the main office, the city treasury, the office for building management, the city building office, the depot and the auditing office.

In 2013, he outsourced the areas of economic development and tourism to the newly founded company Economic Development and Location Development Rheinfelden (Baden). In the course of participating in the Entente Florale Germany 2014 competition , Klaus Eberhardt was able to receive a gold medal and, in 2015, together with Rheinfelden (Aargau) represented the city in the international competition of Entente Florale Europe . There, too, both Rheinfelden won the gold medal.

On April 26, 2020, Klaus Eberhardt was confirmed as Lord Mayor of the city of Rheinfelden (Baden) in an election marked by the corona pandemic with 94.15 percent in office.

Klaus Eberhardt is married and has four daughters.
