Klaus Gärtner (politician, January 1945)

Klaus Gärtner (born January 10, 1945 in Obersontheim ) is a German political scientist and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Saarbrücken in 1965 , Gärtner began studying political science at the universities in Saarbrücken and Berlin , which he completed in 1971 with the examination to become a political scientist. He then worked until 1976 as an employee at the Ministry of Economics, Medium-sized Enterprises and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . Gärtner has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Student Help Life Foundation since 2002 . From 1981 to 1982 he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

Political party

Gärtner has been a member of the FDP since 1968 . In 1969/70 he was chief executive of the FDP Saar and also acted as treasurer for the FDP district of Düsseldorf .

MP

Gärtner was elected to the German Bundestag in the 1976 general election, to which he was a member until 1983. He was drawn into parliament via the state list of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia .

Public offices

Gärtner was State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance (since 1992 Ministry of Finance and Energy) of the State of Schleswig-Holstein from May 22, 1988 to May 19, 1993, and was then a close confidante of the State Chancellery under Prime Minister Heide Simonis . On April 15, 2002, he resigned from this office.
