Stefan Studt, SPD

Stefan Studt (born August 22, 1961 in Bad Segeberg ) has been Chairman of the Management Board of the Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung mbH in Peine since September 1, 2018. From September 26, 2014 to June 28, 2017, the German politician ( SPD ) and lawyer was Minister for Interior and Federal Affairs (including integration, housing and urban development, sport) of the State of Schleswig-Holstein in the Albig cabinet . During this time he was Chairman of the Interior Committee of the Federal Council and most recently a member of the mediation committee between the Bundestag and the Bundesrat .

In the meantime, Stefan Studt was admitted to the bar in Schleswig-Holstein in 2018 and was CEO of a consulting firm in Potsdam.

Life and work

Studt passed his Abitur in Norderstedt and then served two years in the Bundeswehr in Plön ; today he is assigned to the state command of Schleswig-Holstein as a lieutenant colonel in the reserve . He studied law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel, and completed his legal clerkship in Bremen . For a short time he worked in the Lower Saxony municipal administration. In 1993 he moved to the Schleswig-Holstein tax administration, where he initially worked as a subject manager in the tax offices of Segeberg and Flensburg. From 1996 he became - as successor to Torsten Albig - advisor for finances and taxes in the Schleswig-Holstein state representation in Bonn . From 1998 he headed the coordination department in the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Finance and Energy . In 2004 he became head of the department for tax field services and deputy head of the tax department in the Ministry of Finance , and in 2009 head of tax department.

With the formation of the Albig Cabinet, Studt became State Secretary and Head of the State Chancellery in 2012, and at the same time the federal representative of Schleswig-Holstein. After Andreas Breitner resigned as Minister of the Interior, Studt succeeded him on September 26, 2014.

Studt retired in October 2017.

Studt has been a member of the advisory board of the German Fire Brigade Association since 2019.

Studt is married and has four grown children. His grandparents Erika Wolf and Wilhelm Wolf are co-founders of the CDU Brandenburg , whose first chairman was Wilhelm Wolf .

politics

In 2008 Studt was elected to Rickert's local council as a non-party member of the “SPD & Reinforcement” group, from which he resigned in 2012 due to his appointment as head of the state chancellery. From May 2018 to December 2019, he was again active in the local council of his place of residence. He is the deputy chairman of the local SPD association Rickert.
