Klaus Lippold

Klaus W. Lippold (born February 14, 1943 in Bochum ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

From 2005 to 2009 he was chairman of the committee for transport, building and urban development of the German Bundestag and from 2000 to 2005 he was deputy chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Plettenberg in 1962 , Lippold completed a degree in economics and business administration at the University of Cologne , which he completed in 1967 with a degree in economics. During his studies, he joined the academic Catholic student association Unitas -Landshut Cologne in 1962 . From 1967 to 1972 he worked at the Institute for Income Policy and Social Security in Cologne. He then worked as a consultant in the Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering and has been managing director of the Association of Hessian Business Associations and the State Representation of Hesse of the BDI since 1977 . Furthermore, Lippold is the managing director of the Industrieverband Kunststoffbahnen eV In 1978 he received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. at the University of Cologne with the thesis "Starting points for a system-oriented view of the association - analysis of the German Kolping family - a contribution to association theory" .

Klaus Lippold is married and has two daughters.

Political party

Lippold joined the CDU and the Junge Union (JU) in 1969 . From 1974 to 1977 he was chairman of the JU district association Offenbach-Land and has been a member of the CDU state executive in Hesse since 1978. From 1982 to 2000 he was also chairman of the CDU district association Offenbach-Land.
