Klaus Neidhardt

Klaus Neidhardt (born December 15, 1952 ) is a German social scientist and former president of the German Police University .

Life

After his school education in Niederbieber and Neuwied , which he graduated from high school in 1971 , Neidhardt studied sociology , educational science and philosophy in Cologne , Düsseldorf and Duisburg . He completed his studies as a social scientist . After working for a few years as a teacher at a vocational school for gymnastics in Düsseldorf, Neidhardt joined the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in 1981 , where he completed training for the higher police service and graduated as a criminal inspector.

After several assignments within the BKA in the areas of espionage investigations , politically motivated foreign crime and personal protection , Neidhardt transferred to the Police Management Academy (PFA) in Münster-Hiltrup as head of the criminalistics / criminology department . At the same time he was also the deputy head of the Police Management department. In 1999 he was appointed President of the State Police Department at the BKA. Since July 1, 2002, Neidhardt was the president of the Police Leadership Academy. After the establishment of the German Police University (DHPol), which emerged from the PFA, he was appointed founding president of DHPol in May 2006. His term of office ended on June 30, 2013. Hans-Jürgen Lange was appointed as his successor on July 1, 2014 .

Klaus Neidhardt is a member of the Professional Association of German Sociologists . For many years he was involved as a member of the Senate, in the organization of the regularly held conferences for applied sociology and as an author in the journal for social sciences and professional practice .
