Klaus Reichenbach

Klaus Reichenbach (born September 22, 1945 in Altenburg ) is a mechanical engineer, lawyer and German politician ( CDU ). He was a Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister of the GDR in Lothar de Maizière's cabinet .

After training as a mechanical engineer, Reichenbach completed a degree in engineering economics at the Reichenbach Textile School in Vogtland and, from 1975 to 1980, a correspondence course in political science and law at the German Academy for Political Science and Law in Potsdam and, from 1982 to 1986, a correspondence course in law at Humboldt -University of Berlin .

In 1969 he became managing director of Hermann Reichenbach KG Hartmannsdorf , which he led as operations manager after the forced nationalization in 1972. From 1985 he was operations manager or director of the VEB Feinstrickwaren "Goldfasan" Burgstädt .

In 1969 Reichenbach joined the GDR bloc party CDU . From 1974 he was chairman of the CDU district association Karl-Marx-Stadt-Land , since 1987 member of the CDU main board, since 1988 chairman of the CDU district association Karl-Marx-Stadt and since March 1990 of the state association of Saxony and since October 1990 member of the Presidium of the all-German CDU.

From March to October 1990 he was a member of the People's Chamber and from April to October Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister of the GDR. He was considered a candidate for the office of Prime Minister of Saxony in 1990. In 1991, he resigned from the chairmanship of the Saxon CDU regional association. From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the German Bundestag .

He has been working as a lawyer in Hartmannsdorf since 1995.

From 1990 until his resignation on April 23, 2016, he was President of the Saxon Football Association (SFV). He is Vice President of the Northeast German Football Association (NOFV). Since 2001 he has been a member of the board of the German Football Association ( DFB ).
