Klaus Reinhardt (theologian)

Klaus Reinhardt (born May 19, 1935 in Haslach im Kinzigtal , † April 8, 2014 in Trier ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Klaus Reinhardt studied after graduating from high school at the Home Schooling Lender 1953-1957 philosophy and Catholic theology in Freiburg and Munich. He was ordained a priest in Freiburg on May 18, 1958 . He was chaplain in Säckingen, Offenburg and Karlsruhe (1958–1960) and prefect at the Archbishop's Student Home St. Georg in Freiburg (1960–1963). In 1963 he was at the Theological Faculty of the University of Freiburg for Doctor of theology doctorate . From 1963 to 1969 he was a research assistant at the chair for dogmatics with Friedrich Stegmüller , where he completed his habilitation in 1968 .

From April 1, 1969 to October 1, 2003 he was full professor for dogmatics and the history of dogma at the Trier Theological Faculty . He built up the university's collaborations with France - University of Metz -, Spain and Argentina. He retired on October 1, 2003.

In 1990 he was appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Cusanus Society . In addition, since 1993, together with Klaus Kremer , he has headed the Institute for Cusanus Research at the University of Trier and the Trier Theological Faculty, from 2000 to 2007 as sole director. Reinhardt was a member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Head of the Trier branch from 1993 to 2004 and was particularly concerned with Nikolaus von Kues . He was committed to the Kues Academy for European Intellectual History in Bernkastel-Kues. The handbook Nikolaus von Kues published in 2014 was dedicated to his memory.
