Klaus Thomsen (born April 26, 1986 in Haderslev , Denmark ) is a Danish handball player and coach.
Career
Klaus Thomsen's first positions as a handball player were Næstved IF and Team Haderslev. In the summer of 2004, the back area player Viborg HK joined. In the beginning he threw back injuries, after which he joined the second division Lemvig-Thyborøn Håndbold. In 2009 Lemvig rose to the highest Danish league. After Lemvig had to go into the second division in 2012, the defense specialist switched to Team Tvis Holstebro . With team Tvis Holstebro he was in the final four of the EHF European Cup 2012/13 . In addition to his playing career, he coached a youth team from Tvis KFUM and at the Elitesport Academy in Holstebro. He has been under contract with Bjerringbro-Silkeborg since the 2014/15 season . With Bjerringbro-Silkeborg he won the championship in 2016.
Klaus Thomsen made his debut in the Danish senior team on April 5, 2013 . Before that, he played for the B national team. At the 2014 European Championships in his own country, he was runner-up in Europe.
Private
His sister Lene Thomsen was also a member of the Danish national handball team.
