The Klausenturm is a 46 m high observation tower in the Fichtel Mountains . He stands on the west-southwest of Mehlmeisel located 835  m above sea level. NHN high Klausenberg in the Bavarian district of Bayreuth .

History and nature

The tower was built in 1969/70 as a television converter. The viewing platform, which can be reached via 177 steps, offers a good all-round view of the mountains of the Fichtelgebirge such as Ochsenkopf , Schneeberg and Kosseine .

The tower can be easily reached via a forest path from the Bayreuth House (car park) located 350 meters to the southeast at the Waldhaus Mehlmeisel wildlife park .
