Clover salt , sometimes also called bitter clover salt , is a harmful potassium salt of oxalic acid (clover acid) contained in wood sorrel ( Oxalis acetosella ), the correct name is potassium hydrogen oxalate with the formula KHC 2 O 4 .

Clover salt has a monoclinic crystal system. The monohydrate of clover salt loses its water of crystallization at around 100 ° C.
use
Clover salt is used to clean minerals as it can be used to remove limonitic coatings and crusts. Aqueous solutions of clover salt are also recommended for removing rust stains of all kinds, including for bleaching the bluish iron stains on oak wood .
Clover salt is the standard polish for marble .
