Klein Aub is a settlement in Namibia with about 3000 inhabitants. The place has had the status of a settlement since 1995.
geography
Klein Aub is on the unpaved main road C24 , which connects the town with Rehoboth, 69 kilometers away, and with Ababis via the Remhoogte Pass . The place is 165 kilometers from the regional capital Mariental and 143 km from the capital Windhoek . Klein Aub is at about 1550 m .
history
From 1964 a copper mine was operated in Klein Aub , which was shut down in 1987. In addition to copper, gold and silver were also extracted. In 2010 part of the mine collapsed, leaving a hole several meters deep.
