The Little Drava

The Kleine Drau is an artificial receiving water of the Drau in the Rosental near the Ferlach reservoir .

The Kleine Drau was created as part of the construction of the Ferlach-Maria Rain power plant . In order to reduce land consumption by the reservoir on the shady side of the Rosental, a dike was built on the right side of the river . The function of the small Drava is to collect and discharge bodies of water and rising groundwater along the foot of the dyke. The mouth of the small Drau is therefore directly below the power station, in the Ferlach district of Reßnig, not far from the mouth of the Loiblbach .
