course
The Kleine Stieflitzbach rises south of Obercunnersdorf at the southeastern foot of the Gäpfchenberg (471 m) on the former baptismal meadow. Its upper course initially leads north; the stream is piped for its first 600 meters. To the west of the Steinhübels (421 m) the stream takes a northeastern direction. To the east of Obercunnersdorf, the stream is dammed in the oak pond. On the embankment of the oak pond, the state road 190 crosses the brook between Obercunnersdorf and Ruppendorf , below which the local connection road between Obercunnersdorf and Höckendorf . The upper and middle course of the stream in a gentle valley basin is accompanied by deciduous trees, on some sections through meadowland.
In the lower reaches of the stream reaches the Stieflitz and heads north. In the forest area, the Kleine Stieflitzbach flows through a notch valley to the district of Höckendorf. After 2.9 km, the Kleine Stieflitzbach flows into the Wilde Weißeritz northeast of Obercunnersdorf between the Winkelmühle and the Stübemühle .
nature
A project of the state dam administration of Saxony for renaturation of the large and small Stieflitz with a total amount of 100,000 € has been running since 2013 . On the Kleine Stieflitz, the upper course, which had been piped on the fields of the Ruppendorf Agricultural Cooperative, is to be exposed again and the entire stream is to be designed to be natural.
