The Kleine Wurmbach is a right tributary of the Altmühl near Gunzenhausen in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . Nowhere does the stream run in the flat floodplain more than a few hundred meters away from the Wurmbach .

The Kleine Wurmbach rises in the north of Unterwurmbach at an altitude of 418  m above sea level. NN . The stream flows along the northern edge of the village and constantly crosses a wide open landscape in the Altmühl valley . It passes under the Treuchtlingen – Würzburg and Nördlingen – Gunzenhausen railway lines, which have a common route from the crossing under the river, as well as the federal highway 13 . The water flows canalised past the Scheupeleinsmühle and branches off to the right of the Auengraben Augraben near the former mill . The Kleine Wurmbach itself flows after a run of around 2.1 kilometers at an altitude of 412  m above sea level. NN east of the Scheupeleinsmühle from the right into the Altmühl; Opposite the Altmühl is the Gunzenhausen core town.
