Karcag small area

The small area Karcag ( Hungarian Karcagi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the east of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county in the Northern Great Plain until the end of 2012 . The area did not experience any changes due to the administrative reform in 2013; all five localities were taken over in the following Karcag district (Hungarian Karcagi járás).

At the end of 2012, 43,152 people lived in an area of ​​857.26 km². The population density of the second largest small area was 50 inhabitants / km² below that of the county.

The administrative seat was in the city of Karcag (20,523 Ew.). Kisújszállás (11.469 Ew.) And Kenderes (4.593 Ew.) Also had city rights. The large community (Hungarian nagyközség ) Kunmadaras had more inhabitants than Kenderes. Berekfürdő was the only municipality (Hungarian község ).
