Szécsény small area
The small area Szécsény ( Hungarian Szécsényi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Nógrád county in northern Hungary until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform, all 13 localities were transferred to the successor district Szécsény (Hungarian Szécsényi járás ) at the beginning of 2013 , which was strengthened by the village of Szalmatercs from the small area of Salgótarján .
At the end of 2012, 19,096 inhabitants lived in the small area on an area of 277.68 km². The smallest small area in the county in terms of population had a population density of 69.
The administrative seat was in the only city Szécsény (5.999 Ew.).

Attractions
The municipality Hollókő belongs with its surroundings since 1987 to World Heritage of UNESCO .
