Rétság small area

The small area Rétság ( Hungarian Rétsági kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the west of Nógrád County in northern Hungary until the end of 2012 . As part of the administrative reform, at the beginning of 2013 all 25 localities were completely transferred to the Rétság district (Hungarian Rétságii járás ).

At the end of 2012, 23,798 inhabitants lived in the small area on an area of ​​435.03 km². With a population density of 55 inhabitants / km², the small area was the most sparsely populated in the county.

The administrative seat was in the only city, Rétság (2.777 Ew.).
