Balassagyarmat small area

The small area Balassagyarmat ( Hungarian Balassagyarmati kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Nógrád County in northern Hungary until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, all 29 localities were completely transferred to the following district of Balassagyarmat (Hungarian Balassagyarmat járás ).

At the end of 2012, 39,829 inhabitants lived in the small area on an area of ​​532.94 km². The population density of 75 inhabitants / km² was slightly below that of the county (79 inhabitants / km²).

The administrative seat was in the only city, Balassagyarmat (16.055 Ew.).
