Bátonyterenye small area

The small area Bátonyterenye ( Hungarian Bátonyterenyei kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Nógrád County in northern Hungary until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013 eight localities were assigned to the subsequent district of Bátonyterenye (Hungarian Bátonyterenyei járás ) and six localities were assigned to the district of Salgótarján (Hungarian Salgótarjáni járás ).

At the end of 2012, 23,857 inhabitants lived in the small area on an area of ​​273.64 km². With a population density of 87 inhabitants / km², the small area was above the county average.

The administrative seat was in the only city, Bátonyterenye (12.764 Ew.).
