Klint is a formerly independent village on the left bank of the Middle East that has belonged to the municipality of Hechthausen in the Lower Saxony district of Cuxhaven since 1972 . Together with the Koppel district to the east of the village center and Laumühlen, it forms the western part of the Geestinsel Hechthausen.
history
First mention finds the place name in 1341, when Henry Gogreve - possibly a member of today in the parish Hechthausen local family of Marschalck - the pin-Bremen nobles Hermann von Gröpelingen a pension from his estate uppe deme Klinte sold. Later the place essentially consisted of the goods Klint I, Klint II the Geesthof and the associated Meyerhöfen. In 1949, a large part of the town burned down.
Place name
The place name is derived from the Middle Low German word for "slope, steep bank".
Incorporations
On July 1, 1972, Klint was incorporated into the municipality of Hechthausen.
