Knut Andersen

Knut Andersen (born May 9, 1931 in Harstad , Norway , † June 17, 2019 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian film director , screenwriter , actor and film editor .

Life

Andersen grew up in Harstad, where his father was a local master baker. In 1946 he bought an 8 mm film camera and began experimenting with it and gaining initial experience in this field. As a result, he worked for various institutions and employers in the field of photography and film. From 1953 he got an assistant director position at Norsk Film A / S and at Starfilm and from 1958 at Centralfilm , where he was initially only involved in productions of commercials. Subsequently, he was responsible for the film editing in several Norwegian film productions. He was also later active as a screenwriter and film director. Outside of the feature films, Andersen was also involved in several television productions such as 1994 Vestavind with six episodes for the NRK and Lillys butikk .

Knut Andersen was one of the founders of the Norwegian film company Teamfilm AS in 1962 together with the director Knut Bohwim and the cameraman Mattis Mathiesen . Andersen and the Team Film Society revitalized several Norwegian comedies in the 1960s with great audiences and box office successes, including the films Operasjon Løvsprett and Hurra for Andersens . In 1975 Andersen also directed the film Olsenbandens siste bedrifter from the 14-part film series by the Norwegian Olsenbande .

Knut Andersen was married to the theater and film director Nicole Macé (born May 17, 1931).

Awards

Andersen received the Aamot statuette film award in 1976 and the Amanda honor award on August 17, 2007 at the opening of Den norske filmfestivalen in Haugesund .
