history

Parish Church of the Holy Trinity

For centuries marked Kollmann the point at which the arduous traffic route from Bolzano direction burner after bypassing the Eisackachlucht on the rides again reached the Eisacktal. The construction of the Kuntersweg in the 14th century brought north-south traffic through the Eisack Valley to flourish. At the end of the 15th century, Archduke Siegmund der Münzreich built a striking customs house in Kollmann , which is known today as Schloss Friedburg .

The little church of St. Leonhard in Kollmann dates from the late Middle Ages . The parish church of the Holy Trinity in Kollmann was built in the late 16th century.

On the night of August 17th to 18th, 1891, Kollmann was flooded by the otherwise quiet Ganderbach. Due to high thunderstorms in the headwaters, the brook repeatedly carried more water than usual for a short time, but that night the brook caused damage to an unusual extent. 39 residents were killed and around 15 other residents lost their farms. Many of the residents of Kollmann lost all of their possessions. Today there is a memorial plaque for the victims of the catastrophe in Kollmann.
